The Ikhaya Pre-Primary School is a pleasant and cosy part of the Trust Centre, Vision AfriKa’s facility in Kayamandi, and has four classrooms. The classrooms are colourful, well equipped and maintained which makes it the ideal learning environment for young children. The children attending the Ikhaya Pre-Primary School are between 2 and 6 years old. They are divided into four groups, allowing them to play and learn with children from their own age. During the day all children are stimulated to grow by qualified teachers. There is a wide range of activities such as: craftwork, reading, mathematics, gymnastics, singing, dancing and many more. Besides these fun learning activities, children can play inside or on the outside playground. Healthy nutrition is of importance to develop a healthy lifestyle. All children get varied and nutritious food every day of the week. The Ikhaya Pre-Primary School adheres to the stringent regulations stipulated in the National Early Learning and Development Standards (NELDS). This set of guidelines form the framework for the curriculum contents for the Ikhaya Pre-Primary School programme.
