The Education Programme consist of an Early Childhood Development Project and Aftercare Project. The ECD Project consists of a Playgroup project, a Crèche Training project and a Crèche Differently-abled children. These centres offers an educationally safe environment for the some of the most vulnerable children from the areas of Kayamandi, Cloetesville and Zola. Unakho (crèche for differently abled children) is currently the only crèche for differently abled children within the area of Kayamandi and Cloetesville, Stellenbosch. Crèche Training Project: Over the last 10 years Prochorus has co-started about 32 crèches within the community of Kayamandi. We have trained the principles and teachers and continue to support them with training, mentoring and doing regular visits for monitoring and evaluation. We have also started to do crèche training in Delft in 2017 for about 15 crèches and will start another crèche in 2018 in Delft. We are also in the process of registering our own ECD curriculum to do ECD training in more areas. The Aftercare project is facilitated in Jonkershoek, and the centre provides an educationally safe place for children after school. The focus is to create a structured, fun environment to assist them academically as well as provide them with life skills and other fun activities like sports, arts and computer literacy skills.
