Sozo Eden is a holistic vegetable gardening programme run in Vrygrond, one of the poorest townships in Cape Town. Over 80% of households in low-income areas in Cape Town, including Vrygrond, are food insecure (African Food Security Urban Network, 2008). We’re combating this by equipping and empowering low-income families to provide nutritious food for their households by developing individual vegetable gardens.
