The project helps with the process of healing by facilitating psycho-social interventions focusing on breaking the cycle of violence in communities inflicted by years of trauma.CASE generates new healing nodes within a community using both spaces and people to allow for the psychological and social healing. CASE provides empowerment, self-development, and trauma based counselling. Through these trainings, the community members can more easily cope with the trauma of the past, present, and future, while constructing safe spaces for other community members to process the trauma they encounter. CASE breaks the cycle of violence by interrupting the regeneration process based on pain, injury, retaliation, and self-esteem. more >

Shine Chapters are social franchises that deliver the Shine Literacy Hour model but are run and funded independently. Shine provides initial training and assists with resources, as well as providing ongoing support and monitoring. The Chapters are a smart solution for replicating our essential model, helping us to spread knowledge more widely and to reach far more children than we could on our own. Shine Centres and Chapters provide individualised support to children in Grades Two and Three to strengthen their English reading, writing and speaking skills. Children work with trained volunteers once or twice a week, during the school day, for at least one year. more >

We develop Scripted Lesson Plans (SLPs) to address Sexuality and HIV Prevention topics as addressed in CAPS for Grades 4 - 12. We train educators on Sexuality and HIV Prevention and how to use the SLPs to address these topics with learners in the classroom. We also engage School Management Teams (SMTs) so that they can support educators to implement the program and School Governing Bodies (SGBs) so that they can advocate for sexuality education with parents of the schools we are working in. We also conduct mentorship activities for both boys and girls outside the classroom to reinforce what they have learnt in a more practical way. In addition to this, we work with existing school structures to strengthen the link between schools and health facilities to make them more accessible to learners especially for issues related to Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH). As part of our capacity building, we train Provincial and District Officials to become coaches and mentors of educators as they implement the SLPs in the classroom. Education Officials are also trained on how to conduct training of educators on the SLPs. The Activity implementation is supported by action research which ensures that the program remains evidence-informed. more >
